From November 2025, the Federal Government will be introducing the tripling of the bulk billing incentive for all Australians extending beyond children and pensioners. This will mean an additional $20.65 (MMM1) for every Medicare bulk billed consult.
In addition, practices that 100% bulk bill patients will receive a 12.5% loading on all eligible Medicare rebates through the Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program (BBPIP). This practice incentive is shared evenly between the practice and individual bulk billing GP.
Because ‘Our Medical’ centre 100% bulk bill, this means individual bulk billing GPs in the Cornerstone Health network will receive half of the practice incentive payment, an extra 6.25% loading for every eligible Medicare bulk billed consult. For the typical bulk billing GP billing $550,000 per year, this can be $34,375 extra every year.*
